9 Ideas To Stay At Home On Saturday Night

Posted on 30. Jan, 2010 by in General, Saving Money & Finances

Just a quick fun post for today…

After a hard week at work the weekend is often the best time for us to let our hair down and sadly this often means hitting the bars or restaurants and spending all our hard earned money!

For this reason you may be considering staying at home every now and then but may be a bit lost for things to do.

Here are some ideas, in all cases it is great to invite friends over and you could even rotate activities each week.

1. Make it a movie night (Check our posts Blockbuster New Releases and Redbox New Releases for updated rental releases).
2. Host a party.
3. Host a potluck.
4. Have a romantic night in.
5. Play a network video game online with other friends.
6. Order a pizza and grab a few beers for home.
7. Make it a poker night (limit the pot amount)
8. Play a board game. Monopoly or Risk can easily eat up an evening!
9. Go for a long long walk in the early afternoon. You will be too tired to walk when you get back!

Let me know what else you do to keep yourself from leaving the house on a weekend.

Hey Jeff, of course, I always tip the driver :) the driver and cook deserve 90% of the cash but sadly the owners normally pocket the biggest profit….

As a student, numbers one and two are common occurances in our house. We have had several successful dinner parties where guests either brings drink or a course for the meal each. We end up with far more than we can consume but it costs us hardly anything in the process. Plus it’s always a good laugh.

Pizza from our fav. delivery spot and a movie (usually free off the net).

It’s simple and so satisfying! I rarely have the patience to go out anymore.

  9. On a saturday I just love getting some nice food and wine, and eating in and watching TV. The food is more expensive than normal meals, but so cheap compared to going out to eat and it’s just fun!
