A Sunday Yakezie Post Roundup
Posted on by Forest in General, Yakezie
Here in Egypt Sunday is actually the start of the work week. In Islam Friday is the holy day so the weekend is Friday/Saturday. I try to follow this and take Fri and Sat as my weekend but it’s still psychologically hard to make myself motivated to work on a Sunday (years of conditioning!).
One thing I do most Sunday mornings is have a catch up with posts that I have missed over the last few days. Most of those posts tend to be from the Yakezie personal finance blogger network that I am proudly a part of.
So today I thought it would be nice to post a roundup of some of the recent Yakezie posts that I enjoyed reading.
Kevin at Invest it Wisely gives us a glimpse at the WordPress plugins powering the features on his blog. I find it great to see what other bloggers are using and how it may help my blog. This post also features a great Weekend carnival of other bloggers: Weekend Reading: Camping Weekend Edition
Elle at Couplemoney give us another roundup style post pointing to a lot of great gardening tips posts from other PF Bloggers. I have plans for a balcony vegetable garden coming up so this reading is important for me: Garden Tips from Personal Finance Bloggers.
As always Sam at Financial Samurai brought up a great conversational post asking Why Are The Employed So Smug About The Unemployed?
I always enjoy catching up with Jolyn’s posts at Budgets are the New Black and in the post The Lessons That Almost Were she talks about her daughter’s almost desire to take horse riding lessons and just how much that would have cost! Not cheap!!!
Rainy Day Saver has some great articles and here Nicole talks about the creepy guy in the office building and how personality affects success. Personally I think someone should go chat with creepy guy and see if he just needs a few friends…. Sounds like he has some issues that some friends could help sort!
Jennifer aka Little House is a Yakezie member but she has also recently started writing for Wisebread. I thought you should all see her latest post over there: Coping Mechanisms for a Spender-Saver Relationship.
Early Retirement Extreme is another awesome, awesome blog run by Jacob. In the post 15 baby steps towards voluntary consumerism he tells us exactly how we should be living our lives. This is very funny
Len Penzo recently talked about how his kid almost run up over $1000 in text messages! So naturally he is now opening up the discussion to ask Do Kids Really Need Their Own Cell Phone?
Jeff at Deliver Away Debt was the blogger who introduced me to the Yakezie group. I’m still an avid reader and he always has great tips. Here he is reminding us that Christmas is just around the corner and we need to look at how we are going to budget this year, EEEEEK!!! Christmas 2010 On A Budget.
Red at Girl with the Red Balloon talks about her addiction to blogging in the sense that she could only last a week on a 2 week planned blogging break! Oh and she links to some awesome posts around the PF blogosphere: Link Love: I Need You Edition.
I really hope you enjoy some of these posts and go and leave some comments on these awesome blogs. The Yakezie network is amazing and this is only a small selection of some of the awesome bloggers I have connected with through the initial challenge.

A little busier but not by a whole lot…. Cairo doesn’t run to standard time blocks like other big cities. Rush hour can pop up at anytime, people go to lunch completely randomly and shop opening hours are just as random.
The only quiet time in Cairo is Friday morning…. Best time to go for a walk in the city.
However the month of Ramadan is starting soon and Cairo gets weird in that time. People don’t eat or drink a thing from sunrise to sunset and when the sun goes down people party all night. Basically this creates a nation of zombies during the day, shops are even more randomly closed and open than normal and things are just out of whack.
