Easy Pita Chips
Posted by Forest in Recipes & Food
I love digging into some chips with salsa, especially mango salsa. However it was only a while ago that I actually tried Pita Chips and I really like them!
This is definitely a recipe to add to my Cheap and Easy Recipes list!
So I was very happy when a good friend and read of mine from my days living in Montreal emailed me a great Pita Chips recipe.
Simon Forget is an awesome guy (and great graphic artist) and often sends me great tips.
Here is his recipe for easy (and healthier) Pita Chips:
I’m a big chip Lover or Addict!
My mom gave me an easy recipe from a popular cooking show in Quebec.
Ingredients:
Pita
Olive Oil
SpiceDirections:
Open up the pita so you get two round pita bread.
Take a brush and evenly spread the olive oil lightly over the breads.
Add your favorite spice.A classic spice mix is cumin and pepper or provence herbs with garlic and cumin.
You can put some salt but I prefer replace the salt by cumin so its more healthy
The recipe only called to do it on one side but I prefer doing it on both sides (olive oil and spice)
Then put in the oven on medium heat for 15 to 20 min check so it wont burn. It must be crispy.
wait a few minutes that it cool down. Put it in a big bowl and smash it so you get chips!
Voila et bon appétie
This recipe looks awesome! I’m on my way to the mall in a few hours so am going to grab some wholeweat pitas to try this with.
Thanks a million Simon.
