Fresh Salsa Recipe
Posted by Forest in Recipes & Food
I absolutely love Mexican Food and especially a really good fresh salsa recipe, beans, Mexican veggies and tortilla wraps. Fresh Mexican food is often simple but one of the best taste experiences you can have!
I recently asked my subscribers to give me some their favorite frugal recipes and Judi from Michigan was the first to reply with this absolutely awesome Fresh Salsa Recipe.
Salsa is generally just a bunch of tomatoes and a few other bits but I have seriously failed at making it in the past and I can be quite picky with mine.
So here is the great recipe that Judi sent me… Pretty straightforward but delicious.
Salsa is very simple but you still need to get the recipe right otherwise it just tastes like a chopped salad!
Ok here is the recipe. Please let me know if you make it and what you think.
4 cups diced tomatoes
1 medium onion diced
3 cloves garlic crushed or diced finely
1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 green pepper diced
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt (or regular or onion salt)
1/4 teaspoon pepper or lemon pepper
little garlic powder
4 Tablespoons wine vinegar
4 Tablespoons olive oiloptional to make hot salsa
2 small Tabasco peppers
1/2 small habanero pepper
1/2 Jalapeno hot pepperMix ingredients and place covered in refrigerator.
Flavors will blend together if left for at least 30 minutes or longer … over night is better.
Serve with tortilla chips or other even dip onto celery for a diet snack.
I think you will agree, this recipe is fantastic. If you have a fresh salsa recipe or indeed a recipe for anything don’t hesitate to send it my way and I may publish it. If you have a website I will link back there too.
Looking forward to hearing from you, please also leave a comment if you have anything to say or ask.
