Insanity Home Workout Week 3… It’s Working!

Posted on 22. Mar, 2010 by in Exercise, Health, Insanity, Saving Money & Finances

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about starting the Insanity Home Workout Program. Well I am happy to report that today is the start of week 3 and I am feeling great. After jumping, running and climbing (all on the spot ;) ) for the last few weeks I am glad to see the numbers in today’s fitness test jump up significantly.

I’ve also certainly visually lost some more weight although I have gained a little on the scales…. I suspect this is muscle mass.

Shaun T is a little annoying at times but I don’t know that I have ever watched a fitness instructor that isn’t (apart from my old Yoga teacher in Montreal). However it does push you and the group style of the video’s gives you more than just one person to focus on.

I chose to start this program to save some cash as the gym prices around here are sky high. Insanity is also equipment free (you should have a Yoga mat and some ok workout shoes if you can) so it’s a good affordable deal. Insanity can be found for a reasonable price on Amazon: Insanity on Amazon <– Affiliate Link

This was the first fit test I have taken since the day one test so I was eager to see the results and I am going to share them here.

Quite significant improvements in some areas and I now I have seen some results hopefully I will push for some more results. However I have a friend arriving soon and will be taking around 10 days off exercise… Will skip back to week 3 on my return so I can play catch up.

Have you done Insanity, p90x or any home workout? I would love to know what you think has been best for you and how it’s helped you get into shape.

If you are interested in trying Insanity, it can be found for a great price on Amazon: Insanity on Amazon <– Affiliate Link

I’m glad you like Insanity. I’m a huge fan. I’ve actually integrated it into P90X. I prefer Insanity’s plyo/cardio with P90X weights. I do agree that Shaun T is a bit annoying but he’s a million times better than in his Hip Hop Abs workout from what I’ve heard. Looks like you are making some good progress. Keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to more follow ups.

When done with Insanity I am thinking of some kind of Hybrid. I also have the P90X+ and the extended Insanity Vids to throw in the mix at some point…. Put it this way, I am making the cost of these vids minimal and playing and reusing to bring my fitness up to the standard I desire for myself, without shelling out a ton for the gym.

I have a bad patch coming up with 10 days off, so will likely be back with a restart from the week 3 fit test… I hope I don’t drop too much!

I like using the Total Gym. I have not tried any of the others. Also, my son with Down Syndrome and I do some video workouts, like Dancing to the Oldies. :-P

Is that the Weider gym? Those fitness videos look hilarious but I think that’s only a good thing. If you and your son keep it up you will keep a decent level of health and that’s the most important part.

I think this is brilliant. I do Jillian Michaels’ DVDs and she does much of the same moves.
The key is to keep moving – not to take breaks between moves – and by doing that you get the benefit of cardio with your weight training and the fat just falls off right before your eyes!
I’ve been telling people to quit their gym membership for years. The problem is that people say they don’t have the discipline to work out at home.

That is awesome… yes keep moving to maximise your workouts and time :) .

I think working out at home requires less motivation as you dont have to get to the gym… it’s there, just turn it on :)

Those are some big gains. 12 globe jumps. That’s awesome. My legs are dieing when I do those.

You’re probably gonna add like 10% to your results over the next 15 days if you keep going at the pace your at. Nice work. Keep it up.
