Most Popular Countries For Tourists

Most Popular Countries For Tourists – I absolutely love to travel to new countries, being a frugal person travel sometimes makes me break certain frugality rules but I work in the way that saving spending in many areas allows me to keep traveling. This year alone I have been in Egypt, UK, Canada, USA, Germany and early next year I will be off to New Zealand, I can’t wait! But as a self-proclaimed ‘traveler’ I have often wondered how my choices shape up to the most popular tourist destinations.

Paris The Most Popular Country For Tourists
Let’s take a look at the most popular tourist countries and a little about each one. I’ll also add my personal experience where I can.
The visitor stats are for tourism destinations in 2010 and are from a global total 940 million tourists. Sourced from Wikipedia.
1. France – 76.80 million
France is known for so much. Great food, amazing cheese and amazing wine. The countryside from North to South is amazing with forests, mountains, beaches and more! Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and of course there are sights like the Eifel Tower.
My experience has mostly been on the West Coast. I have traveled 500 miles down from Calais. I would say my most memorable places is Dune Du Pyla, the biggest sand dune in Europe.
2. United States – 59.75 million
The US has a lot going on for a relatively new country. From cities like New York, Chicago and Boston to natural wonders such as Niagara Falls, The Grand Canyon and states that vary as much as countries do!
I have spent a lot of time in New England, Vermont particularly. I love this part of the world and enjoy the defined seasons. Boston is a great city and I loved Washington D.C. I went to New York for the first time earlier this year and it blew me away. It’s an awesome and amazing mixed city of great food, larger than life buildings and crazy people on the metro!
3. China – 55.67 million
The most populated country on the world and soon to be economic world leader has a lot to show tourists from exotic street food, crazily busy vibrant cities and attractions like the great wall of China.
4. Spain – 52.68 million
Spain has a reputation for being a relaxed clean living country but also has it’s fair share of party towns and inspiring cities.
My experience of the south coast, between Faro and Seville, was extremely relaxed. I enjoyed the cheap light beer, clean beaches and friendly Spaniards.
5. Italy – 43.63 million
Food (need I even mention Pizza and Pasta!), culture, amazing architecture both present and of course past mean that Italy has a charm that no economic crash can kill. I would love to take a wine tour through the Italian countryside but sadly am yet to visit the country
Most Popular Countries For Tourists, Which Ones Are Your Favorite?
So what countries on the list have you visited? I must say of the ones I have been to I have loved each and every one for different reasons. Travel is addictive and something I don’t plan to stop soon. The world is such an amazing and beautiful place.
I am looking forward to reading your thoughts and comments.

Canada is a beautiful place for tourists however, I don’t agree that Canadians are friendlierthan Americans. Like the Seattle mayor commmented “our neighbors in Vancouver are nice , polite people but it takes tem two weeks to warm up to you” .
I’ve lived in Canada for 38 some years now and have lived in Toronto, Edmonton & now in Vancouver andI’d say the the native born Canadians are not as outgoing and friendly as Americans. Just cross the border into the US and you actually hear the gas attendant welcome you wth arobust ” Hi~ how can I help you ?” In Canada nothing like that happens. The just look at you and want your credit card fast.
But come o thinl of it when a Candian does say ” Hi. how are you? he really mans it. but it may just take the Canuck twoweeks to notice you. hehehehehe! We Canadins are just a bit more laid back than Americans.

Hey Mr Huggard, well I think this is an easy view to take but seriously don’t believe that the mixing and everything related is a bad thing in our modern worlds and I welcome multi-culturalism. Canada, after-all, is made of people from all over the world.
