My New Writing Gig: Financial Highway
Posted on 17. Aug, 2010 by Forest in Saving Money & Finances
4 years ago if you would have asked me what a blog was I would have not been totally sure. Although I have always been tech savvy the word blog repelled me a little as I felt it was probably related to hormonal teenagers and angst agaisnt some pop start who just started seeing a super model… Well of course many blogs are just that, but many are also not!
Around 4 years ago when I finally got the interest to find out what blogging was really all about I was quickly turned around in my thoughts and became interested in trying my had a this” showing the world” my thoughts business.
Fast Forward to now and I blog pretty blog much full time (with some graphic design work). Although I have been full time working online for two years now one thing I never considered myself was a Writer!
I am now a writer…..
When Ray from Financial Highway (and another blog around the same time, details coming soon….) contacted me asking me if I would like to write for them I was a little hesitant. How could little old me actually be a writer for anyone other than myself? It took me some thought and even though I don’t think I am exactly a great writer they seemed to be confident enough in my writing to give me a shot…. So I said OK!
I feel this expansion into other peoples blogs will really help me make the improvements to my writing that I want.
My first article for Financial Highway – 5 Extreme Ways to Go Frugal and Save
Yesterday my first article for Ray’s awesome blog went live. The article can be seen here: 5 Extreme Ways to Go Frugal and Save.
If the title looks familiar it’s because the article is based off a Yahoo article that had an extremely similar name but was not extremely extreme so I felt it needed improvement
.
The article is doing great in Social Media (some controversy on Reddit!) and is attracting a nice amount of comments but I am hungry for more input
. I would love it if you could swing by and leave a comment on Financial Highway or on any of the Social Media Sites.

Sweet! Congratulations Forest. A little controversy is not a bad thing, especially if it makes people think about life style choices.
