Steve Jobs Salary $1

Steve Jobs salary $1, are you impressed? In a world where the CEO’s and Wall Street types are demonized, Steve Jobs is doing something different. He isn’t taking very much for his salary at all. In fact, he is just taking one dollar.
This got me thinking, is this something to be impressed about? I am not so sure. It sounds great with the back drop of so many corporate scandals, greed and more in the news. But I kind of see this as a slap in the face of the millions and billions of people around the world that are struggling.
Steve Jobs Salary $1
To me, this says that I am so rich it doesn’t matter how much money I pay myself through Apple, I will still be able to do whatever it is I please in this world for the rest of my life. Not only the rest of his life, but the lives of his great, great grandchildren as well. They all can afford to take one dollar as their salary and not miss a beat.
Taking the one dollar salary is of no consequence when he makes money in so many other variety of ways. Let’s stop being impress by rich people flaunting their great lives while the rest of the world struggles. Thing about it. How many different ways does Steve Jobs make money other than this noble acceptance of one dollar? Let’s examine the ways.
Stock Dividends - Not sure what Apple pays for a dividend, but you better believe that he doesn’t just own Apple stock. And you better believe that he doesn’t just own a few shares. He owns a mountain of shares in other companies that are paying great dividends.
Bonuses - Steve may have taken one dollar as his salary, but how much does he receive in bonuses? Is that included in the pay? And if he doesn’t have any upcoming bonuses, do you really think the board is going to deny him when he says that he wants or needs one? I don’t think so, but in his defense the man does deliver.
Public Speaking – It is scary how much money a speaker can receive with the credentials such as Steve Jobs. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wasn’t commanding $30,000 to $50,000 per speaking engagement. One or two of these a month could definitely help him pay off some living expenses don’t you think?
Other Companies – Do you really believe that Apple is his only company or the only one that he invest in? I don’t think so. In fact, I am sure he makes a good penny off of other companies that you have never heard of or even are able to link him to. This is one of the advantages of having crazy wealth like he does.
Interest - Can’t believe this is so far down on my list. Think about the amount of money that he makes with billions of dollars in the bank collecting interest. It is frightening to comprehend what a few billion dollars earns in interest per year.
I am going to stop there. As you can see, Steve has a variety of income coming in on a daily basis. And I bet we haven’t even touched the tip of the iceberg of his financial earns. But what do you think? Are you impressed by Steve Jobs Salary $1?

The more senior your position within a company, usually the higher the portion of your compensation that does not come directly from salary. That said, $1 is taking it to the extreme!

The amount of money he saves for PR with a symbolic act like this is much more than what he would get and he knows it.
He is a master speaker and psychologist. Bravo.
