Wacky Wedding Venues
Posted on by Forest in Budgeting, General, Opinion, Saving Money & Finances
Getting married in a standard Church or Townhall is so last century! Well ok it can be really nice but traditional marriage venues are really expensive. Wacky wedding venues could bring a never to forget element to your marriage for more than just you. Your guest may have a whale of a time and you will have something different to be remembered by. I must admit (I know this is bad) that I have fallen asleep during traditional Church weddings so as a guest I would appreciate a funky venue and so would your wallet in many cases. A lot of crazy venues could well cost you nothing!
Affordable Wacky Wedding Venues
Ok, looking at wacky wedding venues you could find some really outrageously expensive places, private islands, on top of amazing structures etc etc but lets take a look at stuff that is within the reach of most of us.
Favorite fast food joint!
Ok this seems tacky but it is wacky. Almost all couples have a guilty secret of late night visits to fast food joints and it’s a guilty pleasure that may well be a main place for relationship development. So why not go crazy and get married there!
At work
You must think I am crazy but your work place may be the perfect venue, especially if that is where you met. If you work at a wedding venue this doesn’t count!
On a row boat
It would be fun to have everyone row out into the middle of a lake all nicely dressed and try and convene around you
while your marriage vows are read. And it well qualifies as wacky!
On a public beach
Hiring a private beach is expensive. Generally many public beaches allow gatherings during the day (check first) and I am sure the public at large would either come to congratulate or steer clear. Why not get married in swim wear while you are at it and make it hawaiian themed.
In a shopping center
I would never choose this option but here in Egypt I have seen it happen many times. Maybe you guys met as teenage mall rats or maybe you both love shopping or mall ice cream. Either way it’s not conventional!
Your ideas, what wacky wedding venues can you think of?
There are a million place you can host a wedding, just go crazy and think outside of the norm and your wedding could be hilarious and special!

We have been married 20 years almost, and went into debt for our wedding. If I was engaged to my husband now and he read this article, he would want to get married at Taco Bell. (And order a number 8, crunchy after the ceremony!)

Ha ha, is Taco Bell where you guys sneak off to? I didn’t grow up in the States but when I first went there was excited to try Taco Bell…. Sadly I hated it! I love Friendleys diners though and Dunkin Donuts breakfast
