Insanity Week 7 (Day 50) Fit Test Results…. Oh No!!!
Posted on by Forest in Exercise, Health, Insanity
Before I start, Insanity is going awesome. I love the program, I enjoy exercising 6 days a week and even kind of miss it sometimes on my off day. My schedule is tight so I could do with regaining the extra hour or so a day but it’s all good.
I must say month 2 is very hard! I can’t even keep up with the warm ups some days and it’s already spurring me onto get ready for Insanity round 2!!! This exercise stuff is addictive! Plus I am seeing and feeling improvement week to week.
Now before I get into the fit test numbers, something weird happened this week…. Some of my results were lower than the Week 5 (Day 36) Fit Test Results!!!!! But I think I know why and I will explain after
.
If you want to give insanity a try then why not pick up a copy. I am going to use this workout again and again until I can finally keep up with the crazy people in the video’s! Get Insanity Home Workout (<– Affiliate Link)

Excuses, Excuses…. Why did my numbers go down on some exercises?
Of course it is disheartening to see numbers go down on a fit test but I know I am getting fitter. I guess I could just say I did not give it my all but the is mostly not true. I did have a poor nights sleep before and I was tired from the Month 2 workouts…. However I don’t think that is what did it.
For the whole of month one I wore no shoes, recently I noticed that the impact of the jumping was starting to cause small strain injuries in my legs, so I started wearing good shoes during a few workouts.
This fit test was my first fit test with shoes on and I felt the extra weight and the extra half inch stretch when doing these exercises…. Bearing this in mind I think I did good and you can see an improvement on some exercises that have impact involved. I will be wearing shoes from no on for every workout and definitely from day one when I start Round 2 of Insanity.
As for the poor suicide jumps performance, I have no idea!!

I’ve always done Insanity without shoes. I use the plyo mat but I never wear shoes. I’ve been told that shoes would actually make things easier but I’ve always wondered myself. That’s pretty interesting.
I’m still floored by your power jumps number. They’ve always killed me. It’s funny how different people struggle with different exercises.
Great work! Keep it up!

I don’t have a plyo mat but I imagine that would help just as good as shoes. The strain I was getting jumping on carpet and wooden floors was just on one side of my calf mainly. Also I was getting sores on my feet…. The shoes definitely add weight, I wish I had used them from day 1.
Power jumps are something I have real trouble keeping up with in the workouts but when it comes to fit test I just seem to be able to bang them out!!! No idea why.
I am still struggling with my upper body strength on many exercises and am looking forward to coming back to month 2 again when I do Round 2 of Insanity.
By the way, I read most posts on your blog but Firefox won’t let me comment on my mac. Weirdly chrome and safari browsers are fine.

ha ha ha. It’s pretty hard but worthwhile I think. There are harder workouts but this is intense as it’s 6 days per week….. I have to fit my workout in today but am pretty tired after a bad nights sleep uggggggghhhhhhh.

You may have seen a descrese in numbers because of your diet. A lot of people get motivated through doing the challenge and starve their bodies of vital nutrients. If you are not eating enough calories and the right calories, your body may be eating fat and muscle. This will kill your progress.
Do NOT fear food. Just eat the right kinds at the right times.

Agreed JJ, it’s important not to starve. I have found the balance is quite hard at times.
